Right after it was announced that the Sternhagen Bhavnagar Polo Cup was slated to come back for another edition, preparation for the ten-goal tournament began in earnest. Organisers announced that the tournament will run for a span of three days, from 8th December 2022 to 11th December 2022, with four equally competent teams squaring off against each other. Each tournament day was steeped in the thrill of unexpected twists and turns through the matches. Matches ended in tight victory for the victor!
After a three-day rollercoaster of matches, this time around, of the four gifted teams, Carysil emerged victorious. They lifted Sternhagen Bhavnagar Polo Trophy, demonstrating through skillful manoeuvring that the team rightly deserves to be at the pole position. The players displayed an exceptional level of teamwork, positioning them as the frontrunner for upcoming tournaments in the circuit. Team Carysil is now having its day under the sun!
Day 1 (8th December 2022):
On the first day of the Sternhagen Bhavnagar Polo Trophy, all four teams were slated to meet one other opponent of theirs at the Cavalry Ground, Jaipur. The first match witnessed nothing less than a cutthroat clash between Rajnigandha Achievers and Krishna Polo teams. The fourth chukker ended in a draw and the golden goal rule was applied when the Rajnigandha Achievers happened to score. The final score was 6-5. In the second match, Bedla-Chandna Polo Team clashed against Carysil Polo. With a final score of 7 goals to 4.5, Bedla-Chandna beat Carysil Polo.
Day 2 (9th December 2022): Semi-Final Matches
The semifinals of the Sternhagen Bhavnagar Polo Trophy witnessed an action-packed afternoon with two matches lined up one after the other at Cavalry Ground, Jaipur. The first match saw Carysil Polo and Rajnigandha Achievers Team squaring off with each other. Both the teams put up a thundering performance to qualify for the finals but with a final score of 7.5 goals to 5, Carysil Polo came out victorious. The second game was a neck-and-neck affair between Bedla-Chandna and Krishna Polo teams. But with a final score of 6 goals to 5, Bedla- Chandna earned their spot in the finals.
Day 3 (11th December 2022): Final Match
The finals of the Sternhagen Bhavnagar Polo Trophy witnessed a gripping match between Carysil Polo and Bedla-Chandna Polo teams at Rajasthan Polo Club, Jaipur. The match started off with a half-goal advantage in favour of Team Carysil Polo. By the end of the second chukker, the scoreboard cheered numbers in favour of them. Although Bedla-Chandna Polo had fought back valiantly and equalised the scores, the half-goal turned the match around in favour of Team Carysil as the mere difference of half a goal led them towards a thumping victory. With a final score of 5.5 goals to 5, Carysil Polo emerged winners of the 10-Goal Sternhagen Bhavnagar Polo Trophy.
