o shun the humdrum of the city and seclude yourself in the melody of the nature gazing at the panoramic view and thereon spending your life peacefully is everyone’s desire but this family made it come true by owning an entire island and calling it their home. And Finnish architects Plus Puu Oy designed their Summer house on the Baltic Sea Island. The house belongs to a family living in Helsinki.
The rocky island is 5,5 hectares and ensemble sea views at the foreground and background. The houses were planned keeping in mind the family’s wishes like large simple window panes have been used to showcase the vast seascapes. Talking about the architecture, there are two building under the same roof built on the wooden logs and also has wood fiber insulation to withstand the extremities of nature.
In the main house, the rooms are separated by an intermediate space and the other building is decked with sauna and washrooms separated from the dressing room. The terrace of the house is made of Siberian larch and the rocky beach are in great harmony. The entire idea was inspired from a bird’s nest from where they can see everything but themselves remain hidden from the rest.
