British Designer Tom Dixon launches limited edition Johnnie Walker Blue Label Capsule Series Award winning British designer, Tom Dixon, launched a limited edition Johnnie Walker Blue Label Capsule Series as part of The Milan Design Week 2017. Enlivened by the irregularity, specialty and legacy of the extravagance Scotch Whisky, the series includes a limited edition bottle, a bespoke ice bucket, a coaster and a bottle cap which was previewed at Milan’s Teatro Manzoni.
The series is the second of its kind of partnership between the designer and Johnnie Walker, after the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Bottle art installation that the designer created in 2016.
Talking about his collaboration with Johnnie Walker, Dixon said: ‘The parallels between Johnnie Walker master blender Jim Beveridge and a designer might seem tenuous, but when you think of it in terms of taking excellent raw materials and using patience and experimentation to extract a product with real resonance, then you can start to see the similarities.’ He added: ‘The copper stills, the oak barrels, the supreme expertise needed to produce a classic product – this was all instrumental to my thinking.’ The limited edition Tom Dixon-Johnnie Walker Blue Label Capsule Series will be available to purchase from October 2017 in slected markets across Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia priced at £180.
