Tonkawa Win The Coveted Triple Crown of Polo 2025

Featuring the top-level American polo circuit, the Triple Crown of Polo returned to enthral people with the best polo action for two weeks.

A pack of four teams qualified to participate in this year’s Triple Crown of Polo. The tournament featured a unique format of six games before moving on to the much-awaited finals, where the most consistent teams clashed for the title.

Match 1: Travieso vs Casablanca 

Date: 6 April 

The first and also the highest-scoring game of the Triple Crown Polo was held between Travieso and Casablanca. The Grand Champions Polo field witnessed a decent start from both these teams, but Travieso took over and had a three-point lead by the end of the third round. Hereafter, they were able to maintain the lead, and despite the valiant efforts in the last round, Casablanca couldn’t cope and lost their first game to Travieso. 

Winner: Travieso ( 15-12 )

Match 2: Tonkawa vs Maltese Falcons 

Date: 7 April

The second game was a closer fight between the Tonkawa and the Maltese Falcons. The Maltese Falcons scored four goals in the first chukker, putting Tonkawa under pressure from the start. Tonkawa was able to pull itself back into the game and level the scores in the fourth round. Both teams had the concluding round to race for the finish line, and Tonkawa was able to make it across the finish line, scoring three goals in the final round. 

Winner: Tonkawa ( 12-10 )

Match 3: Maltese Falcons vs Travieso 

Date: 10 April 

It was time for the Maltese Falcons and Travieso to face each other in the third game of the tournament. Travieso went pointless in the first round, which was a great drawback for them going forward into successive rounds. The Maltese Falcons used their lead to slowly strip away the game from their opposition.

Winner: Maltese Falcons ( 11-8 )

Match 4: Casablanca vs Maltese Falcons 

Date: 14 April 

The next game was held after a three-day break, and the fresh legs representing Casablanca and Maltese Falcons stood up to face one another. Despite scoring half a dozen goals at the start of the game, the Maltese Falcons couldn’t keep up with the pace and conceded too many goals in the latter half, which caused them to lose the last game of the Triple Crown of Polo.

Winner: Casablanca ( 13-10 )

Match 5: Tonkawa vs Travieso 

A second game on the same day, featuring Tonkawa and Travieso, was held to give us our first finalists. Both teams started on equal footing, where Travieso had the upper hand in the initial rounds. Tonkawa soon took over by hindering their opponents from scoring too many goals in the upcoming chukkers. Scoring almost a dozen goals, Tonkawa became the first finalist, winning the game by a two-point margin. 

Winner: Tonkawa ( 11-9 )

Match 6: Casablanca vs Tonkawa

Date: 17 April 

The last league game was a contest between Casablanca and Tonkawa. Casablanca’s performance was simply outstanding. The team worked together as a unit to soak up the pressure, and after the stalemate conditions by the end of the fourth round, they scored two consecutive goals and cleared their path for an easy win. In the last round, Casablanca scored two more goals to solidify their place in the finals.

Winner: Casablanca ( 12-9 )

Final: Tonkawa vs Casablanca 

Date: 19 April 

It was finally time for Tonkawa and Casablanca to face off after a series of intense qualifiers. Tonkawa dominated the early rounds, but Casablanca fought back in the next three, nearly bridging the gap. In the decisive final round of the Triple Crown of Polo, Tonkawa capitalised on their lead and strategic play, controlling the ball and defending their goalposts to clinch this year’s title.

Winner: Tonkawa ( 11-9 )
