An annual multi-genre music festival, it highlights both Icelandic and international music, having introduced a slew of upcoming talents like Mac DeMarco, James Blake, Sufjan Stevens, Sigrid and Dan Deacon, among others. The website of the festival states: “This festival showcases acts ranging from unheard-of up-and-comers to headline status artists, ranging from established international talent to the country’s rich melting pot of domestic rising stars.” The first-ever show–organised in 1999–was thrown open to a Nordic audience in an aeroplane hangar at Reykjavík Airport
