Regata Storica, Venice

Considered among the oldest traditions of Venice, the Regatta Storica is an annual celebration of Venice’s most notable cultural marker–traditional, rowing. It is a pivotal part of the ‘Voga alla Veneta’, Venice’s annual rowing calendar. Every first Sunday of September, Venetians bear witness to a water pageant of Gondola boats and a slew of rowing competitions. The pageant consists of intricately decked Gondolas, with participants onboard attired in traditional Venetian outfits, gliding along the Venetian Grand Canal.
