124th Argentine Polo Championship kick-started on November 4th, 2017. Boasting the highest number 10 goal players in the sport, the tournament is considered the most important interclub championship. The breathtaking contest takes place every spring between November and December in Buenos Aires, Argentina at the “Cathedral of Polo” Argentine Polo Ground in Palermo.

In the great modern classic of Argentine Polo, ten teams were divided into two groups called League A and League B. In League A, La Dolfina, La Aguada Las Monjitas, La Irentina, La Albertina, and La Esquina participated. And in League B Ellerstina, Alegria, Cria Yatay, LD La Dolfina Polo Ranch, and the Chapeleufu made their run for the cup.

La Dolfina Sancor Seguros defeated Ellerstina to 14-13. Juan M Nero scored the winning goal in the last chukker and won the Argentine Open for the fifth time in a row. La Dolfina won its 11th title on the mythical ground of Palermo and the lifted the 17th trophy since the club was founded in 2000. Individually, Adolfo Cambiaso was awarded the 14th title of his career, Juan M Nero, and Pablo Mac Donough for the 8th time while David Sterling was awarded the sixth time.

The Argentine Open attracts thousands of spectators from around the world to witness the most celebrated Polo derby.
