It’s a great pleasure that the Julius Baer Beach Polo Cup 2017, presented by NISSAN will be hitting the grand gesture of Dubai this December dated 14th -15th, 2017 for the exclusive fun and excitement.
For the third consecutive year Dubai is hosting Beach Polo Cup 2017 presented by NISSAN under the Patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council.
The two day tournament will be held at the spectacular purpose built venue at Skydive, Dubai, and Dubai Marina, where modern day gladiator’s battle with levels of energy and passion will be befitting these sands. Beach Polo Dubai has been a part of the prestigious sporting events calendar in the region for more than a decade and has seen immense transformation and growth over time.
It all started on the sands of Dubai. In previous years Polo was only perceived as a grass based sport, played on fields so large that it was easy for the spectators to feel detached from the action of the game.
This all changed with the creation of Snow Polo St. Moritz. The concept became an inspiration and it raised the question, if Polo can be brought to the snow, why can’t it be brought to the sand? In 2004, for the very first time Beach Polo was birthed on the sands of Dubai, the idea came to life and Beach Polo was born.
In September 2014 Beach Polo Cup Dubai received the official Patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan. This has further elevated the recognition of the sport on a local and international level.
