The HH President of UAE Polo Cup (18 Goal) conducted its second day cheerfully with almost all well-known player participating. The Ghantoot ADS Securities Argentine star Facundo Solo led to the second successive victory defeating Desert Palm at the Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club. Solo scored four goals including a free-hit from 40-yards to lead his team to a 10-9 victory over Desert Palm.

Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi, winners of the Emirates Open Polo Tournament defeated UAE Polo Team with a score line 11-7.In a game between Abu Dhabi’s Alfredo Cappela Barabucci and UAE’s Pablo Polito Pieres , Barabucci came out on top with a total of eight well scored goals. Ghantoot top the four-team table in the +18 handicap event, with four points and would face-off Abu Dhabi in their final qualification match on Tuesday, January 16.

Fewster, who scored in the very first minute, and Facundo Solo less than 60 seconds later made the match interesting from the very beginning. The first chukker was a flurry of activity and resulted in seven goals in total before ending in favour of Desert Palm who led by 4 goals to 3.The second chukker was tight and yielded just one goal, scored by Solo to help Ghantoot draw level at 4-4. At the end of the third chukker the score was locked at 6-goal. After some tense minutes Ghantoot scored two crucial goals off the sticks of Terrera and Fewster to pull ahead at 10-8 with time running out for Desert Palm. A last minute penalty helped them pull one goal back but it was a case of too little too late as Ghantoot would hold on for a 10-0 victory.
