JODHPUR POLO SEASON 2016 MAHARAJA OF JODHPUR GOLDEN JUBILEE CUP

he 17th edition of the Jodhpur Polo season witnessed the commencement of the Maharaja of Jodhpur Golden Jubilee Cup (12 goal). Under the auspices of Jodhpur Polo and Equestrian Institute and patronage of Maharaja Gaj Singh and assistance of the prince, Shivraj Singh, the final match between Polo Factory/IPG Bedla and Krisha Polo was played.

Krishna Polo emerged victorious with a difference of one goal by scoring 6 goals to 5 goals of Polo Factory/IPG Bedla. And with this final match ended the Jodhpur Polo Season 2016. The patron-in-chief, Maharaja Gaj Singh along with the prince, Shivraj Singh were present during the match. Maharaja Gaj Singh along with Shivraj Singh acknowledged the winning team with the cup and trophies. The Mehrangarh Museum Band and the 16 guard army band bestowed their sweet, melodic tunes during the match.

The honorary secretary of the Jodhpur Polo and Equestrian Institute, Colonel Ummed Singh told that Pranav Kapoor of the Krishna Polo team scored 2 goals in the third chukker, Sayyed Shamsher Ali (+6) scored one goal in the third chukker, Dhruvpal Godara (+5) scored a single goal in the first chukker and two goals in the second chukker. Simran Singh Shergill (+6) of the Polo Factory/IPG Bedla scored a goal each in the first and second chukker respectively, Rao Himmat Singh Bedla scored 2 goals in the third chukker, and Raghav Rao Yadav scored one goal in the fourth chukker.

Maharaja Gaj Singh and prince Shivraj Singh of Jodhpur presented the following titles and prizes to the players:

Best Army Polo Player of the season: – Lt. Colonel Aditya Singh (Prize: General Sahni Trophy)

Best upcoming young player of the Jodhpur Polo season: – Kartikeya Singh (Prize: A watch sponsored by Frederique Constant)

Best player of the 17th Jodhpur Polo season :– Rao Himmat Singh Bedla (Prize: A watch sponsored by Frederique Constant)
